Anson Justi - Washington DC Area Based Climate Policy and Impact Researcher

Anson Justi serves as a climate policy and impact analyst with the Maryland Public Service Commission. He is the primary coordinator of a collaborative Department of Energy-funded project undertaken with researchers from the National Lab of the Rockies, which aims to create statewide capabilities for transmission system-level production cost modeling. Anson Justi also works to mitigate resource adequacy challenges in Maryland and assess energy storage procurement programs in utility filings.

Previously, Mr. Justi served as a regulatory economist with the Commission and presented testimony in litigated cases on topics such as the rate of return on utility equity assets and electric rate design. The quantitative models he developed focused on electric vehicle (EV) adoption curves through 2031 and were part of a legislatively mandated project examining building and transportation electrification and its distribution grid impacts.

Mr. Justi earned his BA in economics and applied mathematics and statistics at Macalester College in Minnesota and completed graduate studies in environmental policy and management at the University of California, Davis. Anson Justi has volunteered as an analytical researcher for NOAA's Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary, focusing on the Florida Keys' blue economy from the perspectives of ecosystem restoration and socioeconomic value and costs.
